FAQ: FAQ

ARE YOUR CATS PURE BRED?

Yes! Our cats and kittens are purebred, pedigreed Maine Coons and proudly registered through TICA. We follow the TICA Code of Ethics for Breeders. We are a small, in home cattery, so our kitties are well socialized and well loved!

Pedigree information is available upon request.

HOW DO I RESERVE MY MAINE COON KITTEN?

1. Fill out Kitten Application

2. Once we have received your application, you will be contacted to let you know if you have been approved to move forward in the adoption process. We will then send you a contract and introductory document to review to learn all about us. By making a deposit (described below), you agree to all Terms and Conditions of the Contract and Intro Doc.

3. A $250 non-refundable deposit per kitten will be required to hold a spot on the waiting list. All deposits are made through Zelle or Venmo. We will email you instructions once you are approved through the application process.

4.  The first person to put a deposit on a litter will have first choice of the kittens available for adoption. Second deposit on a litter will receive second choice, and so on.  If there is not a kitten you would like in this litter then we will move the deposit to the next litter, and contact the next person in line.

WHAT IS THE COST OF ONE OF YOUR KITTENS?

Our Maine Coon kittens are currently pet priced between $2500-$3000.  If you are interested in breeding rights, we can discuss further pricing.

Each kitten comes with:

1. Health Guarantee

2. Vet Health Check Record (including vaccinations and worming as needed)

3. Litter Training

4. Pedigree Information

5. Papers to register with TICA upon proof of being neutered or spayed by veterinarian (we will also call the vet to confirm this) by no later than 6 months of age. After confirming, we will mail out the appropriate TICA registration papers.

6. Lots of Love and Socialization!

7. Optional - Breeding Rights Agreement upon further discussion and payment.

Each kitten will be sold with a spray/neuter Kitten Agreement (unless you are also pursuing breeding rights).

All of our crew are tested and shown negative for FIV & FeLV.

We reserve the right to cancel the adoption process of one of our kittens - at any time, for any reason, and we will refund the deposit at that time.

WHEN CAN I PICK MY KITTEN UP?

Typically, our kittens will be ready to go between 12-14 weeks. The full price of the kitten must be paid in full by cash when you pick up your kitty.

WHAT IF I LIVE OUT OF STATE?

Though this is an option, we highly recommend and prefer that you pickup your kitty in person because it can be quite stressful on the little ones to have them travel by air. We understand this may be the best option, however. We can also arrange ground transport through a carrier service and or we are also willing to drive up to 5 hours to meet in the middle (requires an appropriate gas fee).

Shipping cost is between $400-$700 when available within the U.S. We will do everything to make sure it's the most minimal price possible - there's no hidden fees. A pet carrier, the health certificate from vet, and other necessary items will be included in the determined cost.

A courier will accompany the kitten in a cabin airline, which is also dependent on location.

Shipping costs in addition to your final balance are mandatory 3 weeks prior to the date your kitten(s) can be shipped, and must be paid via Zelle or Venmo. We have to coordinate with the airlines and veterinarians for health certificates, which dictates the 3 week timeline.

Another option is for you to fly into the Nashville, TN, (BNA) airport. We would meet you there with the kitten.

DO YOU OFFER A HEALTH GUARANTEE?

We offer a LIMITED health guarantee within our sales contract. For this to remain intact, you must have your kitten assessed by a vet within 72 hours of arriving home.

HOW BIG WILL MY KITTEN GET?

Maine Coons take 3 years to reach their full size, and then another 2-3 years to attain their full maturation in appearance.

Once they reach 3 years old, you can expect that your cat is as large as it will be.  Based upon the size of our Maine Coons, they can be anywhere between 10-30 pounds. Oby's Dad is 30 pounds!

HOW SHOULD I INTRODUCE MY NEW KITTEN TO OUR HOME?

Everything will feel new and overwhelming for your sweet little one. Expect that there may be some vocalization/crying on the way home, Maine Coons are often verbal kitties. Though it will envoke your compassion and maybe even worry, we promise he or she will be just fine. They're just missing Mama and their siblings! As you speak to and pet them gently and lovingly, they should adjust relatively quickly to their new family and home.

We suggest letting your new baby adjust over a few days time before meeting new animals especially. Place his or her carrier with Mama's blanket in a quiet room with his or her bed, food and water, a few toys and their litter box. Kittens love to play! That'll be one great way to help them adjust to their new forever family. We suggest allowing them to stay in whatever room you choose for the first 2-3 days. At different points within those first days, place their carrier in a living area where other animals typically roam to allow them to get used to the new scent before overwhelming the new scent-maker face to face. :) After those first few days, you can allow your new kitten to come out for 30 minutes to an hour at a time under close supervision (especially with other animals and young children) into other living areas. If one of your animals is having a hard time adjusting, please be intentional to keep that animal out of sight and only allow very short amounts of time to "sniff" and get to know one another, gradually increasing the time allowed only as the other animal seems/grows in calmness and acceptance. Don't rush this process, they should love each other well over time - you'll probably find them snuggling for naps within a few weeks!

Be especially careful with young children who can - out of great love and excitement! - squeeze too tightly, poke eyeballs, etc. because this newest addition to the family looks like a living, loveable stuffed animal that little ones think they can squeeze and touch however they want. We get it, they're just so adorable and exciting! Maine Coons are excellent pets for kids because they are so friendly, loving and patient. We know your precious little ones have gained a big love ball, so be intentional to teach them gentleness in handling their new kitty to ensure this new kitty will be gentle in return. :) Maine Coons are incredibly gentle, kind animals with long patience, but we still must be careful - they are animals who will self-protect if feeling threatened or physically hurt, especially in new situations.

Remember, your kitty is little and adjusting to many new sights, sounds, smells, faces, and environments! They may tire easy and need their safe space to retreat to in order to rest and adjust to their new home. Typically, your new kitten will adjust well within a weeks time. Please feel free to reach out to us and or your veterinarian with any questions or concerns. We want this to be the best experience possible for both you, your family and your new kitten!

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS OR NEED HELP?

Please feel free to reach out to us and or your veterinarian with any questions or concerns. We want this to be the best experience possible for both you, your family and your new kitten!

We absolutely LOVE getting updates, seeing pictures, and hearing how all are adjusting in their new forever family. We support you and will be here for you!

DO YOU SHOW YOUR CATS?

Not at this time, but that is something we are interested in! They definitely show themselves off at the veterinarian and to friends and family, but we don't get any awards for that. ;) They sure are beautiful!

CAN WE VISIT YOUR CATTERY?

Yes, after an application has been completed and approved, as well as a phone convo.

Once a deposit has been made and you are on track to adopt one of the kittens, you are allowed one visit before adoption. We are happy to Skype/video call so that you can see the kittens in real time and confirm that YES! we are real, honest people who love our cats/kittens and can't wait to allow them to be adopted into loving, forever families! :)

When it is time to take your new fur baby home, you are allowed to come to our home and pick them up. We will coordinate those details after an application is approved and a deposit has been made because we feel confident you are a great fit for one of our kittens.

We upload kitten videos and pictures weekly so that you can see them grow!

PLANTS IN THE HOUSE?

Please be VERY careful about having plants in the house and read through this helpful resource: http://petpoisonhelp.wpengine.com/poisons/

A number of plants are bad for and can even kill cats!
